This
tall sculpture of a Native American Indian warrior god graces Museum Hill
in Santa Fe. Notice how blue the skies are on Tuesday after heavy smoke
from the Pecos fires inundated the skies of the state capitol.

The
old abandoned Presbyterian Church at Taiban, New Mexico, stands as a
testament to God’s peace. The church is on the north side of Highway
60-84 four miles west of Tolar and 13 miles east of Fort Sumner, NM. The
explosion of military bombs on the Santa Fe Railroad at Tolar blew away
most of Tolar, but only one man, Jess Brown, was killed. About 40 years
ago Pete Sweet, who owned the Billy the Kid Museum on the east edge of Ft.
Sumner took, or bought, the old church’s bell tower and it is on exhibit
in that museum, according to Don McAlavy, history columnist for the Clovis
News Journal.
