BOYCOTT AARP!

Today I sent an e-mail to AARP stating the following:

I will not renew my AARP (American Association for Retired Persons) membership unless you get rid of AARP President Novelli and return to supporting a not-for-profit, universal health care system that will benefit all Americans, except for middle men insurance companies that profit from OUR healthcare dollars. My mother Pat Johnson, former president and director of AARP-New Mexico, would turn over in her grave knowing her many years fighting for universal health care have been derided by despots like Novelli.

I endorse and support Barack Obama for President because I believe he'll inspire the people to empower themselves to take back our country. He'll end the war, end the culture of corruption, bring universal health care to all of the people and bring a revitalized change to Washington.

I have sent e-mails to the ABC and NBC networks regarding their unethical censorship of candidates and I encourage all Americans to do the same.  Here are my letters:

Dear NBC:

Why is NBC helping Neo-Cons shape the democratic political landscape by excluding Kucinich from the Nevada debate? As a former broadcast journalist moderating political debates, I found it imperative to invite and include all of the candidates in debates and forums. NBC betrays the American trust, as does ABC, so maybe your FCC charter should be revisited.

Dear ABC:

Why is ABC helping Neo-Cons shape the democratic political landscape by excluding Kucinich from the New Hampshire debate? As a former broadcast journalist moderating political debates, I found it imperative to invite and include all of the candidates in debates and forums. ABC betrays the American trust, as will NBC by excluding Kucinich from the Nevada debate on Jan. 15, so maybe your FCC charter should be revisited.

I Support Martin Heinrich!

I endorse and support Martin Heinrich (D-Albuquerque) in his bid for the first congressional seat of New Mexico because I believe he's the best qualified candidate who'll help end the war in Iraq, end the culture of corruption in Washington and provide affordable and quality health care for all of the people.

CONCERNING THE TRIB'S DEMISE...

Democrats, progressives, liberals and truth seekers ought to consider either supporting or purchasing The Albuquerque Tribune, or else lose their only significant voice since its owner E.W. Scripps Co. plans to close Albuquerque's only afternoon rag if it can't find a buyer within the next two months.  All we'll have left for dailies here will be the blah, blah, blah Albuquerque Journal and its blah, blah, blah conservative overtones.  In fact, I'm not going to renew my Journal subscription when it expires tomorrow because the bloody bastards stole my job (plus 30 other carriers will lose their routes Saturday, Sept. 1) delivering the Wall Street Journal to some 200-plus subscribers in the northeast part of town.  The responsibility for WSJ deliveries will then belong to the predatory neo-con Albuquerque Publishing Company and its naughty redneck step-kid, the Albuquerque Journal.  And my wife will be without a job delivering her 125-plus Tribs in the northwest part of town if the multiple award winning paper is allowed to be stomped dead by the giants.  That means an additional 40 carriers' jobs will be wasted.  The Trib should consider severing its ties with the Journal and Albuquerque Publishing Company and either get its own press or consider printing with an independent printer, as well as change its press time to morning since afternoons fail to gain readers.  Should intelligent people assume that there's tension between the two dailies?  That the Journal people despise the Tribune for covering the anti-Bush rally at Senator Domenici's fundraising event earlier this week in Los Ranchos?  Why should the Journal be Albuquerque's only voice?  Shall The Trib be forgotten?

AG GONZALES BITES THE BULLET:

The saga over the resignation of U.S. Attorney Alberto Gonzales seems best summed up in the prophetic song "For The Turnstiles" that Neil Young wrote 33 years ago:

"All the Bush-League* batters

are left to die on the diamond.

In the stands the home crowd scatters

for the turnstiles..."

* In the published song, the letters B & L are lower case.

WILD BILL'S MANIFESTO -

The voters successfully carried out their mandate to hold Congress accountable by voting for a Democratic majority in both Houses.  It's now up to the Democrats to repair all of the damages done by the Republican Congress and Bush Administration the last six years at home and abroad. Although it seems some Democratic leaders will NOT immediately seek impeachment of Bush & Cheney, they still must investigate the White House for misleading our country into war and determine whether impeachable offenses were committed and whether acts of treason or high crimes against the American people should be prosecuted.  The voters' mandate also suggests that the new Democratic majority in both Houses must press for:

1) political reforms that deter and eliminate our culture of corruption that festers throughout the political and business realms of our country;
2) an exit plan in Iraq that safeguards our military men and women and homeland;

3) a detainee policy for suspected terrorists that does NOT violate the U.S. Constitution;

4) the repeal of the unconstitutional provisions of the Patriot Act and other incompetent acts of the president and congress;

5) affordable gas prices, education, housing and prescription drugs;

6) universal and valid health care for all Americans, not just Congress and the elite; and last, but not least

7) energy independence.

And We, the people, must continue our vigilance by participating in our government and thus not allow lobbyists and special interest groups to seize it all...

THANK you for this fabulous Manifesto... It is beautifully written - and in my opinion, should be sent to the White House, the Democratic Party, and every other major newspaper in this country. Excellent.

I agree with all except I think the Impeachment process will only interfere with accomplishing all of
the other goals. Just like the Iraq war is interfering with the war on terrorism. I hope the Democrats are
bigger and better men and women than the Republicans were and care first and foremost about the welfare of our nation and its people. Revenge might be sweet, but there is too much to do now to indulge ourselves in that sort of luxury.

Betty Palmer  11/11/06

Impeach Them.  Fantastic... I heard on Air America a bill in congress that will start the investigation soon. Write your congress representative to pass the bill and we can start the investigations and the money trail of all that they have stolen as well.

Eric Sofield

I said more than three years ago that the voters must hold Congress accountable if they refuse to do their job dealing with the president's illegal war in Iraq.  It is unlawful because the reasons for it were groundless and false.  And we are still there three and a half years later as an occupation force and for what reason?  To promote their Civil War?  What freedom is there in that?  Blood and death, more killing and more families suffering.  And the Grand Ol' Party - The Republicans - say they're all about family values, as long as they can kill us in their bloody, stupid wars.  Let's hold our Congressmen - senators and representatives alike - accountable and boot their asses off the hill on election day, November 2006!  And urge the new Democratic majority to start the Bush impeachment process!  Vote early and let these creeps know we aren't going to take it anymore! - Editor, DJ Online

Rep. Heather Wilson's campaign must think the voters of New Mexico's First Congressional District are stupid.  Heather and her spin staff want us to believe her latest ad attack on her opponent, Patricia Madrid,  accusing New Mexico's Attorney General of letting a sexual predator go free.  New Mexicans know that it is the job of the district attorney of each and every county - and NOT the State AG - to prosecute criminals.  The AG sometimes may assist the DA upon the DA's request, but it's still the DA's responsibility to process justice on suspects and convicts. - Editor, DJ Online

President Flip Flop is on the cut and run again with the truth.  He has obstructed justice, lied to the American people and has proven that he is NOT worthy of being our commander in chief, but rather blatantly displays his tenacity as our commander in thief, set out to destroy America with his warmongering satanic cults and rogue warriors on the Hill.  His skull and bones are exposed, could Hugo Chavez be so wrong?  Or is Bush just a stupid incompetent idiot who listens only to what devils say?  And what about his sheep in Congress, the ones who blatantly wipe their asses clean with our precious constitution? - Editor, DJ Online

I have turned off my radio and plugged in my new CD, Neil Young's just released album "Living With War," a wonderful artistic social commentary of today's world gone mad.  I'm not real clear why the country's radio stations refuse to recognize this great work by my most favorite rock artist with their apparent censorship, and it pisses me off.  I urge all great patriots of the Hippie Highway, Peace Movement and Free Speech to blast up their stereos playing Neil's hit songs everywhere they go and especially as they pass by their local radio stations.  - Editor, DJ Online

It's simple and maddening at the same time!!! Corporate owned media, corporations are allowed to own multiple stations in many markets, monopolizing on and controlling what we hear. This is why so many small stations were bought up or went dark around the latter part of the nineties and now are dark or play right wing talk radio ... and I can't get a job in radio, 'cause I rock, and even when I did a Southern Gospel program, I programmed it like a 60's free form rock program ... Ha! ha! I never could work on a "christian" station for this reason .... especially  when playing southern gospel in the morning and then turning around and having a "metal" show at night... happy listening!!!  - W.B.

The race for New Mexico's 1st Congressional District is heating up and it seems Patricia Madrid has given incumbent Heather Wilson a reason to spend her $400,000-plus oil money on negative advertisements for a losing cause. - Editor, DJ Online

Let the rich oil and energy barons build a stairway to heaven rather than allow them to lead us on the roadmap to hell.  May peace reign on earth as it does in heaven. - Editor, DJ Online

George Bush runs a secret world with secret prisons and secret lies, and then he says, "God Bless America!"  Like some caring parents tucking in their kids for the night, then condemning their  hearts and souls to Satan.  Where is the resistance?  Where is America's soul?  Where is God really hanging out these days, in some hole in Iraq or Afghanistan or perhaps caught between the walls of Bush's secret prison?  Thank God for our spies, they spy against evil, against tyrants, against the burning bush that is hell... - Editor, DJ Online

I saw a bumper sticker the other day that struck me plain as day: "In times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act."  That means a lot to me as a longtime journalist and this is certainly one of those times of universal deceit, which carries with it persecution of the truth and its messengers. - Editor, DJ Online

As a new resident to NM, I must take issue with your overzealous law enforcement personnel. Pulling someone over 1 block from their home strictly for the purpose of harassing them for not having a seatbelt on, only because they have out-of-state plates, is totally uncalled for. It's no wonder NM stays poor; you drive everyone out with your harassment. Leave the tourists alone! They bring income to this otherwise barren land. You have lots to offer, but don't know how to treat tourists and newcomers. WAKE UP!

Let's introduce the wolf into some of our major cities, especially wherever an environmental group has its HQ, and the best place to introduce them is Hollywood where a lot of these ignorant celebrities live who are always donating money or doing public interest spot for the environmentalists. I wonder how they would react to a pack of wolves running down Hollywood and Vine or invading some celeb's back yard and scarfing up fido.

The story about the woman who was hit by a Police Baton at an Anti War demo needs to realize she was at the wrong place at the wrong time and should not have even went if she didn't want trouble. That's all I hear about those Anti War demonstrations. The Police are doing their job trying to get control over some out of control "fanatics." If you are at a social gathering where there is drug use, even though you are not involved in doing them in any way, you're there, you're going to go down with all of them! Do these Anti War Demonstrators really think they are/were going to change the mind of the President by protesting???

We all know George Bush lied about the reasons to go to war in Iraq. But a majority of people believe everything that the commander and thief tells them. Most small towns in America are ran by the churches and freedom of thought is an after thought. So sad to see so many people lose their lives in an unjust war for profit. The oil barons are getting richer at the expense of us motorists. $2.75 for gas? Guess Cheney is sure getting rich!

Bush is the most corrupt, the most dishonest and purely ignorant man who ever fixed an election. He is NOT "our" president - he works for the giant corporations who his father and grand-father put into the real power in the USA. No one should be dying in Iraq (Americans OR Iraqi citizens) so the Bush Gang can get richer. The USA is NOT a democracy in 2006. We, the people, have let a maniac rob what was left of our civil liberties and our human rights. I am ashamed of the US and our politicians and our citizenry, who stand by idly while the country goes to hell in so many ways.

I have a brother-in-law preparing to return from Iraq after nearly a year in command of a U.S. Army company there. He consistently tells me that everything he sees on the mainstream media about the war in Iraq is slanted negatively. He says that the vast majority or Iraqi people are pleased to have had the Americans help them establish a new government. He has worked hand in hand with them and says they are just like his dad, his brother or me... they are good, honest people who want only to have a good job, work hard, and provide for their family's well-being in a safe and secure nation. They are just regular folks who were run rough shod over by a dictator and needed a helping hand throwing him out. He says there have been incredible success there that he sees everyday, but that he never sees it in the media... just talk about it all being a big mistake. He is disappointed in the media and disappointed in the American people for letting the media get away with it. I'm sick and tired of everybody jumping on Bush about this war. Yes, feel free to jump on him about any other crap you want, but not this... the info he got about MWD was flawed. So F***ing what? It's what he had and based on it he made the right decision. I am also sick and tired of all the freaking Democrats having a complete amnesia attack about all the crap Clinton screwed up. Want to talk about immoral... be careful about opening that can of worms with Bush if you're not willing to open the same one with Clinton. Bottom line, he's an immoral bastard too. BUT GUESS WHAT... he did some good stuff too. And that's the way it is if any of you crybabies ain't figured it out yet... every President screws stuff up and gets his hands dirty in stuff he shouldn't, but they all do good stuff, too. You have to take the good with the bad... I took it while Clinton was in office and now you can take while Bush is in office. And I'll take it again when whatever Democrat gets elected in '08.

Mr Johnson, I didn't realize you were such a Denny Hestert fan. However, I cannot see what promoting the Speak of the House to president would gain other than putting Tom Delay closer to being in charge of the country. No, the only way to bring about the changes you want would be to send money to your like-minded supporters in Iran and hope that all copies of the Constitution burn under the mushroom cloud. In addition, you'll need to outlaw elections, since the guy you want impeached received more votes than any other president in history. Your best bet would be to gather all the unemployed in the nation and put them to work gathering petition signatures for your Hestert-for-President drive. OOps! That's right. The other day a National Security Adviser (Hadley) said on C-SPAN that the American military policy of preemption or preemptive strikes (read Nazi aggression) should be used only in cases of imminent threat. Then he mentioned that prudence and smartness are required to carry out this policy but that in the case of Iraq, there seemed to be a lack of intelligence. Well, there you go, all we need is someone with some smarts and integrity in the White House to be able to discern the truth and fantasy... Who are these guys anyway? I personally think they are insurgents whose goal is to destroy our way of life and our supreme law of our land, the Constitution of the United States of America. I mean, Bush thinks it's okay to spy on Americans and he lies about the use of some hocus pocus presidential authority to pry into our private lives and some weird war powers to imprison and torture anyone he deems a threat to his own god damned way of life, which is of the filthy ugly rich elitist bastards who put him in power in first place, never mind faulty, non-tamper-proof electronic voting machines that his Administration insists that the courts impose throughout the land.
